Former Days of Our Lives star Charles Shaughnessy (ex-Shane Donovan) will make a guest appearance on CSI: NY, according to the actor's official Facebook page and a CBS press release. The episode "Sanguine Love" is scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 3 at 10 p.m. ET. Charles will play Mr. Christensen, the father of a young woman found dead in Central Park. Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress and General Hospital alum Finola Hughes will play Mrs. Christensen, the victim's mother.
CSI: NY is a forensic crime drama inspired by the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The series revolves around forensic investigators who use high-tech science to follow evidence and solve crimes. Gary Sinise, Carmine Giovinazzo, Anna Belknap, Eddie Cahill, and Guiding Light alum Melina Kanakaredes star in the hit series.
Charles Shaughnessy went on to star opposite Fran Drescher in the popular comedy The Nanny from 1993 until 1999. He was also the voice of Dennis the fish in Playhouse Disney's animated series Stanley, a role which earned him a 2002 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program. Charles has also made numerous guest appearances on shows such as Touched by an Angel, Law & Order: SVU, The Mentalist, and Hannah Montana. He most recently starred in the Hallmark Original Movie The Wishing Well. ing ISA agent Shane Donovan from 1984 until 1992. He made a brief return in 2002 when Hope was kidnapped by Larry Welch.
