Taylor Spreitler (Mia) has landed a role on the new ABC Family half-hour comedy Melissa and Joey, according to her official website. Spreitler will play the role of Lennox, the teenaged niece of Mel, played by Melissa Joan Hart. Joey Lawrence also stars as Joe, who moves in with Mel and Lennox and becomes their male nanny, or "manny."
This news couldn't have come at a better time for the young actress, who has played the troubled Mia McCormick on DAYS since January 2009. As previously reported, Spreitler has been let go from the show. She will last air as Mia in June.
Melissa and Joey will premiere on Tuesday, August 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family. Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence not only have starring roles, but they are also the executive producers. David Kendall are Bob Young are executive producers and writers. Paula Hart is also the executive producer.
