A semi-normal Roman and Lucas later arrive at the hospital and visit Stefano. They are stunned to learn from Rolf that Stefano’s about to go into surgery. Roman wonders how the transplant will happen without EJ. “Another family member has stepped forward and made a donation,” reveals Rolf as he displays the cooler on the table. Lucas and Roman suspiciously wonder who. Rolf suggests they leave. Lucas asks Roman who else would donate a liver to Stefano besides EJ. Roman initially believes Andre would, then suspects that maybe the mysterious liver was stolen. Lucas later tries to call Sami, but unfortunately she doesn’t answer. Roman doesn’t come up with any new news regarding his daughter. Lucas insists Sami is still at the gym and claims he needs to go back there. Roman proceeds to meet Bo down at the waterfront. He assures Lucas he’ll call if he hears anything and advises Lucas to get his head wound cleaned up.
At the riverfront, Steve later comforts Benji as he is wheeled away on a gurney. Bo informs Steve that Benji has a deep laceration under his ribs evident of a knife wound, but it’s too surgical like it was done with a scalpel. Steve proceeds to ride in the ambulance with Benji while Bo tells an officer to get a statement from the homeless guy. Roman then arrives and reveals that Stefano has somehow managed to get a donor and is thus about to go under the knife. Bo is enraged and surmises that the liver came from Benji. He implores Roman to call the ambulance and alert them that there’s a patient who’s missing part of his liver. Bo proceeds to head to the hospital to halt the transplant procedure.
Stefano sees Santo yet again and tells him to go away. Rolf suspects the medication is getting to him. Santo assures Stefano he’s been a faithful soldier, but his work is not yet done. “I have given you my life! What more do you want?” a tormented Stefano wonders. “Whatever you have left,” replies Santo before he disappears. Rolf asks Stefano if he’s comfortable. “The Phoenix will never die,” laughs Stefano wickedly.
Bo later confronts Rolf as he is wheeling Stefano into surgery. He spots the cooler with the liver transplant and picks it up, demanding where Rolf found a donor so quickly. Rolf lies that it was a distant relative from Tuscany. An angry Bo isn’t buying it and grabs Rolf by the shirt, informing him that Benji was found in a dumpster with a deep laceration in his side. Rolf plays dumb as Steve makes an entrance and grabs the cooler. Rolf demands Steve give it back. “That poor boy is down at the ER fighting for his life you son of a bitch!” chastises Steve. Bo attempts to calm a furious Steve down. Steve adamantly refuses to allow Stefano to have Benji’s liver and threatens to flush it first.
In the steam room, EJ and Sami pound on the door begging Andre to let them out. Andre of course refuses and wonders where Kate is. EJ tries to calm a frantic Sami down and begins to undress as Sami wonders what he’s doing. He claims the layers of clothing will trap the heat and hands Sami a towel, advising her to undress as well. “Oh great. I’m sure that’s what you would love, for me to be in my birthday suit,” she mutters. EJ reminds her that she’s pregnant with twins and thus needs to cool herself down.
Sami later has a towel wrapped around her while EJ models his boxers. She cries as she wonders if God would let her babies die. She berates herself for not listening to Lucas and leaving when he suggested. EJ tells her not to blame herself. She worries that Andre has done something to Lucas and pounds on the door yelling for help. EJ tries to assure a hysterical Sami that Andre would never kill someone in a public place even though he’s done some horrible things. She experiences trouble breathing as she frantically wonders where Bo is. EJ assures her they’ll be found and tries to get her to relax. “Would you stop saying that? It is 400 degrees in here! I can’t breathe, my, my babies can’t breathe in here!” she wails. She threatens to kill him if he tells her to relax one more time. He notes her raging hormones and proposes to play a game in order to take their minds off the dilemma. “You think I want to spend my last remaining moments on this earth playing twenty questions with you?” she jeers. He proposes they play truth or dare. She refuses, stating that it’s not a sixth grade slumber party. EJ jokes about her natural hair color. She queries if he’s working with Andre and set this up just to get her naked. EJ refers to her accusations as ridiculous and claims he had nothing to do with this. She wonders about all the other rescue missions he was involved in and concludes that it’s too convenient for EJ to be in the right place at the right time. He refuses to make any apologies or excuses and professes to care very much about her. She implores him to help her get out of there if that’s the case.
EJ later fans Sami with a towel, which helps Sami feel cooler. She offers to return the favor. "When I’m pregnant with twins you can do it to me,” he jokes. After some brief banter, he soon discovers a ceiling fan and wonders if he can get it to short circuit somehow. He questions her cup size and proceeds to take the underwire from her bra. Sami assumes that EJ’s getting off on touching her “unmentionables.” He stands up attempting to short circuit the system in the air vent using her underwire. She admits she’s scared and urges him to hurry up.
Lucas arrives back at the health club questioning Tessa about Sami’s whereabouts. Tessa informs him that Sami left with a “tall, really hot” English guy. Lucas shares his suspicions that they are still there. Meanwhile, EJ struggles to short circuit the vent with Sami’s underwire, then is electrocuted. Sami is horrified and pleads with him to wake up. Lucas finds the steam room entrance bound and locked up. Tessa rushes off to find something to break the door open with. Lucas calls for Sami, who pleads with him to hurry and get the door open, fearing that EJ’s dead.
