Character Description:
Jett Carver first appeared in Salem with his best friend Jeremy Horton, whom he had met in the Air Force. The two of them founded Touch the Sky Airlines, which flew high rollers to and from Las Vegas. Unbeknownst to those around him, Jett’s true identity was that of an undercover ISA agent working to bring his “buddy” Jeremy down. Before coming to Salem, Jett came across a file of Jeremy, who was suspected of involvement in a possible smuggling operation. Thus, he tracked bad boy Jeremy down.
Jett became instant friends with Chelsea Brady and admired her for her directness, especially when it came to Jeremy. He revealed that he had a fiancé named Danielle and finally brought her to town in July. Chelsea, along with Stephanie’s help, did some undercover work and discovered that Danielle was already married. She shared this knowledge with Jett, but he bit her head off for sticking her nose in his business and played the part of the devastated fiancé. He finally spilled the truth to Chelsea that he was an undercover ISA agent working to bring Jeremy and his whole operation down. He admitted that he was forced to lie to her in order to protect her and that he and Danielle were just good friends. Chelsea was hurt that her good friend flat out lied to her. He asked a reluctant Chelsea to spy on Stephanie, suspecting that she was in on Jeremy’s dirty dealings.
Jett eventually fell for Chelsea and put a serious rift in her and Nick’s relationship. They had close encounter when she slipped out of the hot tub in Vegas and Jett caught her, which Nick witnessed.
When Jeremy’s corrupt boss Ty Rawlings got wind that Jett was close to bringing their illegal prostitution operation down, he shot Jett in the Las Vegas casino. Jett and Chelsea were about to share their first kiss right before he was shot, but never had a chance. Chelsea rode in the ambulance with him, where he professed his love for her right before losing consciousness.
After the traumatic incident, Jett remembered nothing about professing his love, although it was clearly evident he had deep feelings for her. Jett received another blow when his Uncle Abe informed him that he’d been fired from the ISA for letting his personal feelings get in the way of his duties and for endangering the lives of civilians in Vegas. He and Nick mended fences and Nick apologized for his previous treatment of Jett.
Chelsea convinced her mom, Billie Reed, who was head of security at Salem University, to hire Jett as a campus security guard. Jett and Billie soon began to investigate a series of campus rapes, with Ford Decker as the main suspect.
After Chelsea was kidnapped and rescued by a man who was after Nick Fallon’s stepsons, Jett asked her out for dinner, but she blew him off. A dejected Jett realized that Chelsea only had eyes for Nick and stepped aside.
Jett last appeared at Ford Decker’s hearing, where the charges were dropped against him. This is the last time Jett has been seen, although it’s still assumed that he works at Salem University as a campus security guard.
