Does She or Does She Not?

By , About.com Guide

Outside the pub, Kayla wonders who would tamper with their car. Steve suspects kids were messing around, but Kayla immediately brings up the most overused word of 2007: vendetta. She rehashes how Steve held Stefano hostage at the TV station and proceeds to call a tow truck. He takes the phone from her and claims he just had a memory of them being in the parking lot at Shenanigans. He coyly suggests climbing into the car and working on creating another family member.

At Lucas’s apartment, Lucas fumes how the cops just traced his gun and panics about the possibility of the cops finding out that he bought two guns. “So what? You didn’t shoot EJ with it Lucas,” responds Kate. “They tracked your gun Mom! They traced your gun back to me!” exclaims Lucas, who accuses her of causing more trouble by cutting Steve and Kayla’s brake line. Kate later urges Lucas to get rid of the gun, but he reveals that it’s not there. “It’s on a delivery truck,” he confesses. Kate thinks he’s joking at first. Lucas has a flashback of sending the package to himself through a delivery service.

Inside the pub, Shawn and Belle are all dressed up ready to attend their high school reunion. Bo, Hope, and Ciara arrive as Hope marvels how amazing they both look. Bo jokes how they should mark the calendar since Shawn is wearing a tie twice in one month. Abe enters as Shawn and Belle leave. Hope takes Ciara to see Grandma Caroline so Bo and Abe can talk. Abe displays a search warrant hidden under his suit and brings up how Lucas bought illegal guns using a fake name, which is probable cause for a warrant. Bo then reveals how he talked to the head of special forensics in D.C., where they have a high resolution body scan which might be enough to pick up markings off the bullet lodged in EJ’s spine. He is conflicted about putting Lucas behind bars, but Abe affirms that a crime is still a crime, even against the DiMeras.

Hope later helps Caroline clean up after leaving Ciara with Grandpa Shawn to watch basketball game. Caroline marvels how Shawn is getting a good start in life and has picked the right girl, then notices Hope’s hesitation. Hope then asks Caroline if she did everything she could to prepare Shawn for fatherhood and being a good husband. Caroline assures her that she did a wonderful job. Hope then changes the topic to seeing Steve and Kayla’s car outside. Caroline remarks that they left a while ago, which arouses suspicion in Hope.

Meanwhile, Steve and Kayla get amorous inside their car before Kayla reminisces their Shenanigans parking lot memories. He whispers what an angel she was back then and how she still is. The giddy pair make out and get busy on making a baby. Hope opens the door, which elicits screams from Steve and Kayla. An embarrassed Hope quickly shuts the door and walks off.

Back inside the pub, Caroline and Hope share a chuckle as a flustered Kayla re-enters the pub. Kayla claims she and Steve took a walk. Caroline offers to fetch hot chocolate for Hope and Kayla. Hope laughs and apologizes for interrupting Kayla and Steve’s moment. Kayla expresses relief that Hope caught them in the act since Bo and Roman would never let them live it down. Hope jokingly assures her that her secret is safe. Kayla changes the topic to Shawn and Belle and notes how happy they seemed at their wedding. Hope admits how worried she is over saying something to Shawn or not about Belle’s indiscretion. Kayla reminds Hope how she agreed to keep mum as long as Belle stayed away from Philip. Hope reveals that Phil and Belle were together the night before the wedding. Kayla believes Hope should tell Shawn the truth and brings up how Stephanie told her the “truth” (pregnancy test) and speculates that things would’ve been a lot harder if Steph wasn’t honest with her. A conflicted Hope despairs that the truth will kill Shawn. Kayla tries to assure her that things will be okay. Hope embraces her. Steve re-enters and reveals that someone cut their brake line, but the “guy” got away.

Sami arrives home with the twins and knocks on EJ’s door to find EJ opening a bouncer for one or more of the babies. He conveniently asks about his boy, but apparently forgets to acknowledge Allie. He requests to hold Johnny, but she claims she needs to go back and retrieve her keys from Alice’s place and wants to walk the twins for their nap. Before she leaves, EJ asks her why she’s avoiding him. She claims her life is hectic with twins and apologizes if he feels that way, then gives him a peck on the cheek before leaving. EJ puts batteries in a baby monitor and has a brief flashback to discussing Sami with Lucas. “Does she or does she not? Inquiring minds want to know,” he wonders aloud to himself.

Back inside Lucas’s apartment, Kate quips how much better she feels when Lucas recounts how he had a delivery express service pick up his package, which he had sent to himself. They are interrupted by the doorbell, which Lucas answers to EJ holding a gift bag. “I already gave at the office,” remarks Lucas, who slams the door in EJ’s face after taking the bag of gifts. Kate suggests he be nicer to EJ, especially if he shot him, then urges him to call the delivery service and get his hands on the package. Unbeknownst to them, EJ has planted a baby monitor inside the bag.

Back in EJ’s apartment, he eavesdrops on their conversation. Lucas later attempts to track his package on the phone as EJ listens in via the baby monitor. Kate answers the pounding on the door to Bo, Abe, and another officer who all need to speak to Lucas. Bo displays his search warrant and requests to search for Lucas’s gun. Lucas plays innocent and claims he doesn’t have a gun, but Bo attests that he has proof otherwise. Lucas invites them in and waits out in the hall with Kate. Bo immediately suspects that the gun isn’t there. Abe agrees and notes how calm Lucas is.

Back in EJ’s apartment, EJ has a memory of being shot and wonders if his shooter could be Lucas.
