Philip falls asleep at Titan and has a dream about Belle coming to his office and revealing that she finally left Shawn. She relays how she told Shawn that she was in love with Philip. A wide-eyed Philip stands up as Belle declares that divorcing him was the biggest mistake she ever made. Phil leans in for a kiss.
Philip later has another dream of Belle entering his office revealing how she ended things with Shawn because she’s in love with Philip. Philip claims this time he’ll need proof, since she keeps lying to him. She then displays a bloody butcher knife. “How’s this? Shawn’s dead. I killed him. Just like you asked,” a smug Belle declares. “How could you kill Shawn?” shudders Philip. Belle with her evil demeanor claims it was easy and did it for Philip. He later has another fantasy about Belle before finally waking up startled, then leaving his office.
Shawn gives Belle a heavenly massage. Belle jokes about it being better than sex. Shawn apologizes for ever doubting her. They later lie in bed together as Shawn marvels over how lucky he is. She claims there’s something she needs to tell him. “I’m not the woman that you think I am,” says Belle, who admits she’s made a lot of mistakes and isn’t the same innocent girl he grew up with. An enamored Shawn only sees her as the woman he loves. He kisses her after declaring that she’s perfect enough for him.
A preoccupied Belle later watches Shawn sleep. He wakes up and coaxes her to come back to bed. He then kisses her and leads her back over to the bed as they are on the verge of making love.
Bo enters his bedroom after reading bedtime stories with Ciara, then shares how ballistics matched the gun which Shawn found to a bullet taken out of the altar. Hope is thrilled for Shawn. Bo reveals it was Kate’s gun. Hope isn’t crazy about the fact that Shawn had to wrestle the gun from the guy’s hand. She is convinced that Shawn will now get into the academy if Philip doesn’t try to sabotage him again. Bo demurs that Belle’s the one who wrote the letter to the academy. Hope is incredulous upon hearing this news and is even more taken aback to hear that Shawn knows. She can’t understand why Belle didn’t talk to Shawn about her concerns instead of going behind his back. Bo relays how Belle wrote it after John’s death and regretted it as soon as she sent the letter. Hope remarks how Belle’s starting to make a habit out of going behind Shawn’s back and believes they should’ve told Shawn about Belle’s affair.
Hope recounts how she listened to a message which Philip left for Belle, indicating that they were together at Titan the night before the wedding. Bo wonders why she didn’t tell him this sooner and proceeds to tell Shawn. Hope tells him to wait and suggests they talk to Marlena first, but Bo insists otherwise.
Hope relays the contents of Philip’s message to Bo. She then demurs how Belle left her phone behind after the wedding, so Hope listened to her messages to see if her suspicions about their daughter-in-law were right. Hope further reveals that she spoke to Marlena, who didn’t want to believe that Belle would cheat, but agreed to speak to Belle. She begs Bo to wait and see what Belle says to Marlena before they spill the beans to Shawn. Bo insists they tell Shawn and let him decide what he wants to do. Hope despairs over what it’s going to do to Shawn once he finds out the awful truth.
Bo and Hope later climb into bed as Hope makes him promise to keep mum until they hear from Marlena. He reluctantly agrees, but intends to tell Shawn what kind of woman he married if they catch Belle in any more lies. Bo then jokes how there’s too much space between Hope and himself before they get amorous.
In EJ’s apartment, we see a brief replay of yesterday’s show when Sami advises EJ to hire a nurse to help him. He playfully pulls her into his lap just as an angry Lucas walks in. Lucas grabs EJ and yells how he should kill him right now. Sami pulls Lucas off of EJ, who claims he’s fine even though he’s obviously in pain. Sami berates Lucas for his actions and urges him to go back to the hospital. EJ asks for pain medication, which she retrieves for him. “Don’t tell me you were okay with his hands all over you like that!” rants Lucas. Sami claims she fell into his lap and EJ caught her. Lucas wonders if she’s lying for EJ. “No, Lucas. Actually she’s lying for you,” replies EJ, who suggests that Sami tell Lucas the “truth.” Sami winces when EJ blurts out that Sami’s falling in love with him and admitted her feelings in the hospital. Lucas refers to EJ as delusional and asks Sami what’s going on. Sami is caught between a rock and a hard place as Lucas storms out.
Sami later chastises EJ for his actions and demands that he treat her like an equal. She insists she needs to go talk to Lucas, claiming she’s concerned for her children. EJ affirms that no judge in his right mind would ever prevent her from seeing her kids. “I don’t want to go to court over this if you don’t mind!” exclaims Sami. EJ wonders if he should be suspicious of her. Sami claims she does indeed care for EJ. He implores her to prove it by staying with him tonight. She insists things will get worse with Lucas if she waits. “Please stay,” he coaxes. Sami begs him not to make her choose between him and her children and claims she’ll only be worrying all night over the upcoming confrontation with Lucas. He allows her to leave and kisses her before she departs.
Sami later arrives home to an angry Lucas and insists that she’s not falling in love with EJ. “I love you!” she professes. He isn’t totally convinced and opens the door, telling her to go back to her husband. She continues to insist that she loves him, then shares how Stefano threatened her family if she didn’t adhere to Stefano’s demands of trying to save EJ’s life. Lucas still isn’t convinced by Sami’s declaration of love for him.
