Agent Indecisive

By , About.com Guide

Maggie expresses how Chloe makes her nephew very happy. “Does he make you happy? I mean can you truly see yourself spending the rest of your life with him?” questions Maggie. “Lucas is the best man I know. Honest and loving, and I just feel so safe with him. He’s the right person for me. I know that,” she expresses. Maggie thanks Chloe for putting her mind at ease. Chloe in turn thanks Maggie for caring so much about her future husband, which makes Maggie chuckle.

Lucas later uses a payphone to call Chloe. He reveals that his car broke down on the way home and now he’s stranded on the pier. She offers to make some calls for him, but he says the tow truck will arrive in a little while. They exchange “I love yous” before hanging up. “Hmm. Maybe I’ll let Lucas unwrap one of his presents early,” she smiles before she heads in the bedroom.

Just outside the cabin, Daniel has the necklace and looks inside to see if anyone’s there. Chloe dresses up in a sexy red teddy intent on giving Lucas an early Christmas gift. She is startled to open the door and find none other than Daniel standing there.

DiMera mansion

Nicole is touched when E.J. comes to her bedroom and presents a rose to her. He apologizes for the argument earlier and expresses how she and the baby mean the world to her. He then states that he’s fed up with sleeping in separate bedrooms. “I love you, and I would like to hold you in my arms all night long,” he professes. “You know we can’t,” responds a panicky Nicole. E.J. kisses her and insists otherwise. Nicole wonders how she can offer a place in her bed to a man who won’t trust her with money for their child’s future. E.J. reminds her that he was extremely clear with the money issue, then wonders if his profession of love means anything to her. Nicole knows he loves her, but surmises that at the end of the day she’s just another DiMera possession or baby mama. An annoyed E.J. tells her she’s in a very bizarre frame of mind and announces that he’s going to bed alone. After he slams the door, Nicole breaks down.

Nicole later sees that Dr. Baker is calling, but doesn’t answer it, complaining how she doesn’t have his money or a baby. “But I do have E.J., sort of, and that’s worth more than all the money in the world,” she says.

Nearby, E.J. wonders what the devil is going on with Nicole. Nicole emerges wearing different clothes and claims that the baby is driving her crazy and making her act irrational. She expresses how all of her life she’s wanted a man like him, someone who’s strong, sweet, and giving. He tells her to stop babbling and expresses how he’s never felt as close to someone as he does with her. “When I’m away from you I feel lonely, and when I’m with you I feel like the sun just came up,” he expresses. Nicole feels the same way. E.J. encourages her to stop worrying and assures her that he’ll always look out for her and their child. He kisses her and feels her abdomen. She pulls away and he notes that it feels different. Nicole offers to explain. E.J. clarifies that he meant that their baby’s getting bigger and growing. Nicole is relieved and whines how she’s been eating so much and gaining weight. E.J. assures her that she’s beautiful and kisses her. He coyly suggests spending the night in the same bed. Nicole claims she should listen to Dr. Baker and assures him that it won’t be long, and once their baby is born they’ll have their whole lives to lie in bed together. She kisses him. “And, not just cuddle,” she implies. This makes E.J. smile and they smooch again.

Things get passionate before Nicole insists that they must stop. E.J. proceeds to make some ice cream so they can both cool down and not get into any trouble. He kisses her one last time before heading into the kitchen. Nicole is relieved that her cover wasn’t blown. She is surprised to answer the door to Dr. Baker, who wants to know if she has his $750,000. Nicole insists that she needs a little time and will give him an answer tomorrow. Dr. Baker demands an answer now.

Safe House

Rafe is on the phone telling his supervisor that it wouldn’t be smart for him to leave, since the killer could trail him and he’d be putting the witness at serious risk. Sami opens the bathroom door and overhears, then quickly goes back inside and slips and falls. Rafe calls for her and comes to her side, urging her to wake up.

Rafe carries Sami back to the sofa, where she insists that she’s fine. She then has abdominal cramping and fears it’s the baby. Rafe gets on the phone with a doctor, who inquires if the baby is still moving. Sami takes Rafe’s hand to let him feel and they both smile at the strong kick. The doctor surmises that since the baby is moving, the cramping is probably stress related. Rafe insists that he has to resign, but Sami says there’s no way she’s going to let him. “What happened to sticking it out?” she questions. Rafe admits that he gets sentimental about Christmas and knows it’s not right for him to leave, but he can’t let his feelings get in the way. Additionally, he needs to be objective. “You need to make up your mind, Agent Indecisive,” she counters. Rafe intends to call his friend to take his place. “I don’t want your friend! I want you!” interjects Sami.

Sami clarifies that she wants him to protect her and doesn’t want to get to know some stranger. She admits to feeling comfortable with him, which amuses Rafe, recalling a time not so long ago when she hated him. They agree that she thought he was initially an arrogant jerk, and he thought she was a spoiled brat. Rafe caves in and agrees to stay, which makes Sami smile. He warns her to brace herself, since sooner or later he’ll have to go. She soon feels dizzy and sits down. Rafe assures her that he’ll take care of her.

Sami drinks some tea and Rafe asks if she’s feeling better. She expresses relief that the baby’s okay. She then demurs how she can’t help thinking about E.J. and how he won’t be a part of her baby’s life. Rafe assumes that she’s changing her mind. Sami affirms that she has no intention of changing her mind, insisting that E.J. can never find out about the baby.
