Philip is sleeping in Victor’s hospital room. Victor dreams of hearing Philip admitting to doing something which could destroy the family. Philip wakes up when Victor’s monitors start beeping. Lexie and Kate rush in, where Lexie notes that something has clearly agitated him.

Kate and Philip await outside Victor’s room, where Kate fixes his messed-up hair. Philip tells her to stop. She apologizes. Philip returns the apology and admits that he’s very tired. Kate wonders if something went on between Philip and Victor which upset him. Philip shares how he confided in Victor last night and wasn’t sure if his father heard him. Kate asks why he didn’t confide in her. “Because it has nothing to do with you,” snaps Philip, who implores her to respect his wishes. Kate urges Philip to talk to her if he’s in some kind of trouble. Philip recalls how Victor was always the genius at doing things his way and he never got caught because he always flew under the radar. Kate wonders what it has to do with Philip. Phil reveals that the legacy was left in his hands, but he let Victor down. Kate urges him to spill. Bo arrives and asks how Victor’s doing. Kate reveals that his heart monitor went crazy, but he’s stabilized now. Philip implores his mom to come downstairs so Bo can have some time alone with Victor.

Bo walks into Victor’s room, where Lexie informs him that something must’ve upset Victor, since his EKG readings were spiking pretty high. She tells Bo not to stay too long, since Victor needs his rest. Victor mumbles how he’s upset. Bo asks him what’s wrong. “As if you didn’t know,” responds Victor, who wants to hear about Paul Hollingsworth. Bo encourages him not to talk about that right now, since he needs to get well. He gulps when Victor surmises that he has the goods on Philip. Victor asks Bo if he has the tape of Philip and Paul, reminding Bo that he promised to protect Philip. “You’re an honorable man,” states Victor. “I’m also a cop,” Bo reminds him, stressing that withholding evidence isn’t honorable no matter who’s butt is on the line. Victor begs Bo not to damn his brother, insisting that Philip didn’t kill Paul. Bo argues that he can’t withhold evidence. Just then, Victor’s monitors start beeping again. Lexie orders Bo out of the room.

Lexie soon emerges from Victor’s room and asks Bo what happened. Bo claims he’s not sure and keeps the horrid truth under wraps. Kate and Philip reappear, where Kate asks if everything’s alright. Lexie reveals that Victor’s heart rate spiked again. Kate is aghast and wonders why it keeps happening. Lexie cautions them that Victor’s very sensitive to stress right now and stresses how important it is to stick to small talk. She tells them to call her if they need her, informing them that Dr. Jonas will be taking over her shift. After Lexie leaves, Kate notes that Bo seems upset and asks if Victor said anything during the latest episode. Bo tells her to talk to her son. Kate demands to know from Philip what’s going on. Philip tries to leave, but Kate urges him to spill if there’s something which could hurt him or hurt his father. “You can’t. It’s too late,” whispers an unsettled Philip.

Bo is back by Victor’s side and apologizes for disappointing him, but states that Victor’s request is against his morals. Victor insists that Philip didn’t kill anyone and implores Bo to prove his brother’s innocence. He urges Bo to hand over whatever he has on Philip and walk away. The monitors start beeping again, so a conflicted Bo unzips his bag and hands over the tape.

Lexie later arrives at Hope’s house and thanks her for having Theo over. Abe didn’t know Lexie was getting off work so early. Hope asks about Victor. Lexie informs her that Victor’s had a rough day, but he’s stabilized. Hope leaves the room to grab the kids, and the moment is tense between Abe and Lexie. She asks how Theo’s been. Abe reveals that the kids had an argument, but now they’ve been playing quietly. Lexie is distressed to hear that the kids have been playing separately. Abe then tells Lexie how inspiring she is and commends her on her strength and being a terrific mother. Lexie is moved by his words and knows he’s been struggling with Theo. She apologizes for being so caught up in making plans and being insensitive to what Abe’s going through. They profess their love and Abe assures her that they will work through it.
