The Story of Ava and Patch

By , About.com Guide

Daniel enters Chelsea’s room and looks over her chart as it appears he has dismal news for Chelsea. He reveals that they’re going to have to move her. Chelsea wonders what’s wrong with her, but he doesn’t think he should be the one to tell her. Daniel opens the door to Max and Stephanie, who arrive with balloons and cheer “You’re going home!” Steph then questions Daniel if he’ll be sticking around now that the operation’s all done. Daniel claims he’s here now, but he can’t speak for tomorrow. Daniel and Max exit the room to allow Chelsea to get dressed. “He is so....sweet,” sighs Stephanie. Outside the room, Max commends Daniel on the operation. Daniel cautions him that it’s not a done deal yet, as Bo has a long way to go.

Daniel knocks on the door and asks if Chelsea’s decent. She cues him to come in, where he informs her that he’s signed her release papers. She hugs him and thanks him for everything. He modestly claims that he was just doing his thing. A smiling Steph notices the stars in Chelsea’s eyes after he leaves the room. Chelsea asks Steph and Max to wheel her to Bo’s room to say good-bye before she leaves the hospital.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Philip is conducting business on the phone when Chloe enters the living room. “Damn! You clean up nice,” he notes as she’s wearing a hot dress. He refers to her as a beautiful woman and assumes that by the way she’s dressed, she won’t be lounging around the house eating bon bons today. Chloe announces that she has an audition and reveals that someone in the opera company got pregnant, so she’s auditioning for Venus in Tannhauser, which she believes she’d be perfect for. Philip wants her to be okay no matter what happens. Chloe wonders what could happen, since she’s known the director Jean Carlo for years and has worked with him twice. “He’s a really great guy. And he loves me,” shrugs a confident Chloe. Philip surmises that he doesn’t need to wish her good luck. Chloe tells him to save the good luck for down the road when she might actually need it.

Bo struggles to get out of bed but is busted by Lexie. “You are not going anywhere!” asserts Lexie. Bo insists that he needs to go find Hope. Lexie reminds Bo that he just went through major surgery which shouldn’t be taken lightly. She insists that they need to monitor him in order to ensure there aren’t any rejection complications. Bo expresses his worry for Hope, but Lexie predicts that she’s probably home sleeping. She urges him to sit and wait, warning him that it’s a most critical time. The chief of staff threatens to pump him with a needle full of sedatives unless he marches his butt back into bed. Bo agrees, but says that someone needs to find Hope and tell him that she’s okay.

Bo struggles to get out of bed again and is chewed out by Lexie. He insists that something’s wrong and needs to find Hope. Lexie orders him to get back into bed and to let them find Hope. Bo insists that he needs to call Roman. Lexie relays how Abe mentioned that Roman’s out of town on a case. Bo suggests they summon Abe there. Lexie agrees but orders him to stay put.

Lexie later examines Bo’s incision where he’s experiencing pain. He reiterates that he can’t sit around and do nothing, but she begs to differ and notes that he pulled one of his stitches. She warns him how serious the situation is and believes they should open him back up and check. She pokes around to see where it hurts. Abe arrives to save the day, where Bo urges him to put an APB out on Hope, since she’s missing. He offers to get right on it. Bo implores him not to tell Chelsea or the rest of the family, since he doesn’t want to worry anyone in case he’s going overboard. Abe urges hin to take care of himself and listen to his doctor. He requests to speak to Lexie outside the room. He wants to go to dinner and get some alone time soon. She assures him that they’ll do it soon. Max, Stephanie, and Chelsea in a wheelchair emerge, where Chelsea asks how her dad is. “Stubborn,” answers Lexie. Chelsea says she knows that already and asks how he’s doing physically. Lexie reveals that he pulled a stitch trying to do too much too soon. She encourages Chelsea to be easy on him.

The three enter Bo’s room, who jokes that he was doing too many calisthenics. Steph tells her uncle that the doctors want someone to take care of Chelsea. Bo knows it won’t happen at the sorority house, since the girls are busy all of the time. Steph doesn’t mind watching out for her. Chelsea knows that Steph has her own life now. Bo would offer to let Chelsea stay at his house, but Hope has her hands full right now. Max invites her to stay with him and Ma, predicting that it would be good for both of them. Bo doesn’t know if it’s a good idea, since Ma has a lot of extra work with Pop gone. He asks Max to grab the phone for him.

Abe feels distressed over not being able to put out a missing person’s report, since Hope hasn’t been gone long enough. Lexie warns Abe that if he doesn’t find Hope soon, she’s going to have a hard time restraining Bo, mentioning that he pulled a stitch earlier. Abe vows to make sure his people will find Hope and urges Lexie to take care of Bo, since he needs the good detective back on the job.

In Ava’s room, she orders “Kayla” to call Patch in her room. Steve is sleeping on the sofa at the Salem Inn Suite when Kayla tiptoes to the front door. “Where do you think you’re going?” he asks. She claims she was on her way to the hospital to see Bo, but Steve tells her to get back in the bedroom. Steve then gets a phone call from “Kayla” (Hope). Steve believes it’s a prank call at first. “Steve knock it off. It’s me. It’s Kayla,” asserts Hope, who reveals that she’s standing there with his “friend” Ava. Hope announces that Ava would like her to stay with her a while until he gets his priorities straight. Steve asks where she is and offers to come right over. Ava snatches the phone from Hope and chastises him for running out on him. She warns him that “Kayla” will have to deal with her nastiness if she gets in a bad mood and tells him to keep the conversation to himself.
