According to Soap Opera Digest, former The Young and the Restless Executive Producer Edward Scott has been hired to replace Stephen Wyman as co-Executive Producer in a major DAYS shake-up. Edward's first day at his new job was reportedly August 6. Former The Young and the Restless Casting Director has been hired to replace casting director Fran Brascom as well. Roy Steinberg has also been let go as Supervising Producer.
These huge changes have indicated that there may be life on DAYS past 2009, when its contract with NBC expires. Executive Producer Ken Corday concedes that there will be cast changes ahead during the next few months. "I honestly believe that NBC wants to stay with Days of Our Lives. They're looking for a very strong show of change, faith, and support from me. They believe the show could be improved, as do I," says Corday.
