Philip visits Belle and claims he was hoping to take Claire to story time at the library. A not so warm and fuzzy Belle says that Marlena needed cheering up, so Claires with her for a few days. Philip notes that Shawns not there and insists on coming in, reminding her how everythings changed since they made love. One things changed. I hate myself, laments Belle. Philip claims she didnt do anything wrong. Well I doubt Hope would agree with you, reveals Belle, who recounts the obvious clues which Hope clearly saw. Philip reiterates that they didnt do anything wrong. We made love in the bed that I share with my fiancé, she rehashes. Lets do it again, suggests Philip. Belle states her promise she made to Hope and demands that he leave. He implores her to tell him to his face that she wants Shawn. I want Shawn. Now leave, she implores. Philip isnt quite convinced of this, since she didnt exactly slam the door in his face. They argue about what she wants and their past married life. She orders him out. Philip urges her to admit to herself that she still has feelings for him. He attempts to seduce her, noting that the only thing preventing them from making love is Shawn and the robe she has on. We can take care of one of those things right now, he suggests as he inches towards her. He refuses to budge, so she goes into the bathroom to change and suggests he go back to Titan and raid a corporation. She doesnt exactly close the door as she changes. Philip enjoys the peep show as she rants about him taking advantage of her grief. I lost my father. I was vulnerable, and you used that to get me into bed, she sneers as she exits the bathroom. She refers to their sexcapade as a mistake. He shuts her up with a kiss, which she doesnt fight and has flashbacks of their time in bed together.
Belle finally breaks away from their kiss and whines how she cant believe he just did that. You dont fight fair, she adds. Id rather make love than war, he remarks. He implores her once again to admit that theres something between them. She displays the picture of Shawn and Claire in front of his face and admits she can live without Philip, but cant live without Shawn and Claire. Philip wonders if the picture is supposed to make him feel guilty. Its not possible for someone without a conscience, replies Belle, who keeps insisting that their time in bed was a mistake. Philip recalls all of the good times they had when they were married. Belle rehashes how he walked out upon finding out that Claire wasnt his. Philip admits that he almost changed his mind at the airport, but knew it wasnt fair to Belle. Whats fair about running out on our marriage? she questions. Philip rants about how he wasnt thinking straight. Belle complains about the lack of support she received from him and how he had Lucas deliver divorce papers to her. I never felt more worthless or unwanted in my life! she cries. Philip is astonished by her revelation and thought she wanted Shawn. She attests how Shawn was there for her during that time and tells Philip to go. Do you love me? she asks. More than ever, he whispers. Then get the he!! out of my life, she urges. Philip implies how Shawn gets the girl, only shes in love with another man. She claims to love Shawn and implores him to face the truth.
Philip then recalls what hes learned as a soldier and how it felt losing his leg and face and how he only saw Belle in his mind. I ached for one more day with you, he professes. He refuses to allow her to waste her life on Shawn. They are interrupted by Belles phone. She becomes frantic upon seeing that its Hope and begs Philip to go, since she promised Hope their mistake would never happen again. Belle refers to it as sex, but Philip sees it as much more than that. That wasnt charity. It was love, he professes. Belle affirms that she belongs with Shawn and blames their recent sexcapade on Belle feeling vulnerable due to Johns death. He kisses her again and breaks away just as Shawn enters. Belle asks Shawn how his meeting went with the commander as Philip declares hes out of there. Shawn confronts Philip about the anonymous letter and asks Phil why he did it. Philip denies sending the letter, then leaves. Shawn fumes about Philip and proceeds to go after him. Belle then confesses that shes the one who sent the letter.
After Hopes attempt to phone Belle, Kayla deduces that Belles in class or at the library. Or with Philip, suspects Hope. Kayla encourages Hope to have faith that Belle will come to her senses. Hope expresses concern for Shawn, since he never gets a break. Kayla is convinced that Shawn will get into the police academy and he and Belle will live happily ever after. Bo interrupts and reveals the bad news about Shawns deferral into the academy, based on what was in the anonymous letter. The ladies look guilty as Bo discloses that Shawn was about to go after Philip until Bo talked him down. Kayla leaves the two of them to talk. Bo tells Hope that their biggest problem is that Shawn believes Philips targeting him. Maybe he is, shrugs Hope, who makes Bo promise not to fly off the handle if she tells him something. Bo reluctantly agrees. Belle slept with Philip, utters Hope. Bo is furious and proceeds to go after Philip. Hope attempts to dissuade him from doing this.
